Fugitive methane emissions into the atmosphere are an issue of extreme importance in the European political and ecological landscape, with global repercussions.

In addition to secondary emissions caused by faults, defects, or leaks, continuous fugitive emissions, typical of uncontrolled analytical extraction applications, are also of considerable importance.

European Regulation 2024/1787 of June 13, 2024, on the reduction of methane emissions in the energy sector aims not only to improve the monitoring of fugitive emissions but also to reduce them and provide incentives for such reductions.

Article 13. General mitigation obligation. Operators shall take all appropriate mitigation measures to prevent and minimize methane emissions from their operations.”

The patented ERS system, applicable to most chromatographs on the market, reduces these emissions by 90% or more, thanks to the use of an intelligent fast loop control system synchronized with the chromatographic analysis unit, so that fresh samples are always available to the chromatograph, avoiding atmospheric discharge during the post-injection analysis cycle.
